“What’s important about being a Global China Studies major is to study China from global perspectives. Because of Japan and China’s intricate historical interrelations and a long academic tradition in Japan of studying China, my studies would not be complete without a Japanese perspective, so I am also learning Japanese during my year abroad. In the future, I hope to serve as a connection between Japan, China, and the rest of the world, fostering respectful conversations, mutual understanding, and effective co-development.”
